7/25/2023 NEW YORK – Renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz found herself in an embarrassing situation this week when several unintended lint photos were added to her website’s print sales section via accidental “butt posts” while her phone was unlocked and stored in her back pocket.

The intimate photos, which appeared to be extreme close-ups of fabric lint and fuzz in Leibovitz’s back pocket, were posted alongside her famous celebrity portraits and landscape photos, with prices ranging from $200 to $2000.

Within hours, the “butt posted” photos had completely sold out.

“We couldn’t believe it. They were put online by mistake, and suddenly our phones were ringing off the hook with buyers desperate to get their hands on Annie’s butt pocket shots,” said a representative from Leibovitz’s studio.

“The amber-colored fuzz closeup, ‘Fluff 64,’ was the first to sell out. It went for $2000 to an anonymous overseas bidder,” he added.

Art critics have been quick to offer analysis, praising the intimate, minimalist style of the work.

“With these butt perspective pocket photos, Leibovitz has really exposed herself in a raw, vulnerable new way,” said art critic Henri Dubois. “You can see the delicate sway of the pocket fabric caught mid-motion. She has elevated the mundane to the iconic.”

Meanwhile, eager collectors are already clamoring for more.

“That was just a taste – we want to see the whole archive of Annie’s butt shots!” said superfan Murray Kaufman, who spent $45,000 to acquire the entire limited collection which includes the now famous “Endless Void” and “Soft Tufts”. See slideshow for the entire three-part collection.

Leibovitz could not be reached for comment, but her agent said more butt perspective photos may be forthcoming, noting that Leibovitz never leaves home without ample fuzz in her pockets.
