Actor and comedian Jamie Foxx was admitted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta on April 11th after experiencing a “medical complication” during a Netflix film shoot “Back in Action”. Hospital administration announced today Foxx has been uncooperative with the medical staff in an apparent one-man show as his namesake, the late Redd Foxx.
According to witnesses, Jamie Foxx repeatedly clutched his heart and shouted, “I’m coming, Elizabeth!” and “This is the big one!” whenever a nurse or a doctor approached him. He also made jokes about his sex life, his family, and his co-stars in a raspy voice and with exaggerated facial expressions.
“He was hilarious, but also very annoying,” said Dr. Lisa Jones, who was in charge of Foxx’s treatment. “We couldn’t get him to calm down or answer our questions. He kept calling me ‘big dummy’ and asking for some Ripple wine.”
Nurses also reported that Foxx flirted with them and made inappropriate comments. “He asked me if I wanted to see his ‘Sanford and Son’,” said nurse Angela Smith. “I told him to keep it in his pants or I would call security.”
Hospital administration demanded an apology from Foxx. They issued a statement denouncing his behavior and apologizing to the staff and patients who were disturbed by his antics. “We respect Mr. Foxx as an artist, but we do not appreciate his disrespect for our hospital and our profession,” the statement read. “We hope he recovers soon and learns some manners.”
Foxx’s publicist said that the actor was suffering from severe indigestion, exhaustion, and stress and that he meant no harm by his performance. “He’s a big fan of Redd Foxx and he was just paying tribute to him,” the publicist said. “He’s sorry if he offended anyone and he thanks the hospital for their care.”
Foxx is expected to release a documentary film about his hospital experience later this year.
