Rural King Under Fire For Woke Carts?

4/6/2024 Farley, KY – Rural King, known for its down-home charm and wranglin’ good deals, has found itself in a surprising kerfuffle. A shopper with a keen eye for the absurd (and a smartphone camera) captured an image of a cart clearly labeled “DEFECTIVE.” But the real twist? This wasn’t a rusty relic banished to the retail graveyard. No, this “defective” cart was positioned proudly at the store entrance, boasting a top-of-the-line industrial fan seemingly hot-wired to its side.

Naturally, the internet went into a tizzy. Was this Rural King’s new strategy for air circulation? A cruel prank on unsuspecting shoppers forced to wrestle a rogue cart down the aisles? Or, as some Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) advocacy groups are suggesting, a microaggression of the highest order?

“Labeling a cart ‘defective’ is insensitive,” declared Mildred Thompson, spokesperson for the “Carts with Character” Coalition. “Carts can overcome challenges! This cart, perhaps, just pulls a little to the left. We should be celebrating its unique identity, not shaming it!”

Rural King management, ever the cocky cowboy, claimed the cart was simply a place customer service reps stored items that were defective and used car batteries.

“Yeah right,” Thompson retorted. “Still inappropriate even if true”. In the meantime, shoppers in Farley, Kentucky, are advised to approach cart selection with caution. Who knows? You might just end up with a “spirited” companion for your shopping adventure.
