12/24/2023 Pawtucket, RI – Christmas dinner at the Johnson family household took an unexpected turn today when Uncle Charlie showed up wearing a shirt that said “I’m With Stupid” and had an arrow pointing to the side.
According to witnesses, Charlie thought the shirt would be taken as a harmless joke and get some laughs from his nieces and nephews. However, the rest of the family did not find it very amusing, particularly Charlie’s sister Beth, who was hosting the dinner and sitting next to Charlie.
“As soon as he walked in with that stupid shirt, I knew disaster was about to strike,” said Beth Johnson. “We all told him to go change, but he just laughed it off and sat down at the table next to me. So, there’s my brother, sitting right beside me wearing a shirt pointing to me as stupid on Christmas. It was embarrassing. C’mon Charlie wear something nice for a family gathering for once.”

“That’s just Charlie being Charlie,” Beth’s husband Tom remarked. “He’s worn odd shirts over the years. It’s his thing. I get a kick out of some of them, though, like ‘My Wife Says I’m Not Allowed to Have an Opinion’, ‘My Sister’s Cooking Tastes Like Old Gym Socks’, and ‘I’m Not Bald, I’m Just Taller Than My Hair’. Last year he arrived at the family reunion with a shirt that simply said, ‘My Family Reunion T-Shirt’.”
The Christmas dinner finally reached a boiling point when Charlie posed for a family photo while still wearing the offensive tee. The photo, posted on Facebook by Charlie’s niece Courtney, shows Charlie front and center wearing a shirt that says “I’m With Stupid” with an arrow pointing to his sister Beth sitting next to him.
