10/25/2023 New York, NY – Former president Donald Trump took the witness stand today in the civil fraud case against his family real estate business. After being warned multiple times by Judge Arthur Engoron not to make disparaging remarks about him or the courtroom staff, Trump purposefully broke the gag order during a mid morning break.

“If we had a jury it would have been fair, at least — even if it was a somewhat negative jury — because no negative jury would vote against me. But this judge will. Because this judge is a very partisan judge, with a person who’s very partisan sitting alongside of him, perhaps even much more partisan than he is,” Trump stated.

Engoron questioned Trump about it and after receiving unsatisfactory answers promptly fined him $10,000. When asked by reporters what his next move would be after the ruling, Trump declared “I’ve got the perfect idea for a Halloween costume now – I’m going to dress up as a decent human being!”

Trump went on to describe his costume plans in more detail. “It’ll be something totally new and unexpected for me. I’ll wear a suit that doesn’t look like a tent, style my hair so it doesn’t look like a comb-over gone wrong, and I’ll paste a smile on my face that doesn’t immediately scream ‘I’m a narcissistic sociopath’. I might even go really crazy and carry around a book about ethics and leadership so people think I’m educated and informed. It’ll blow people’s minds!”

Critics pointed out that Trump dressing as a decent human would be the political equivalent of the Emperor’s New Clothes, given his lifelong penchant for corruption, dishonesty and lack of empathy. Others noted that the gag order violation is just the latest in a long history of Trump disregarding rules and laws that apply to everyone else.

But Trump remains convinced that his “decent human being” costume will be a hilarious prank. As he left the courthouse, Trump turned back and called out “Just wait until you see me on Halloween trick-or-treating for charity instead of stealing candy from children! The looks on people’s faces are going to be priceless!”
