10/3/2023 New York City – The Trump Organization announced today that former New York City mayor and Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani has been named head of the company’s new “Contracts and Loopholes” division.
The appointment comes after Giuliani’s instrumental work in helping Trump fight numerous lawsuits and criminal investigations over the years. The role will be pivotal for Donald Trump and his sons as they defend the integrity of their business dealings in the New York civil fraud case.
“Rudy has a real knack for finding creative ways around rules, laws, ethics and norms,” said Trump in a statement. “I can’t think of anyone better to head up this important new Trump Org unit focused on skirting regulations and exploiting fine print.”
Giuliani said he was “honored” by the new position, which will involve reviewing all of the Trump Organization’s deals, partnerships and transactions to identify potential loopholes and weaknesses that can be leveraged for gain.
“My entire career has been about cutting corners, breaking precedent and plowing through red tape,” Giuliani said. “I look forward to bringing my unique skill set to the Trump team in this formal capacity.”
The “Contracts and Loopholes” unit will also be tasked with drafting purposefully vague and open-ended contracts for Trump businesses that are designed to create confusion and make later exploitation easier to accomplish and defend in court.
Ethics watchdogs have raised concerns about Giuliani’s appointment, but Trump defended the move as a smart business decision.
“Rudy gets results,” Trump said. “If you need someone who can find a way to weasel out of an airtight contract, make improper deals with shady figures, or play 6-dimensional hardball, Rudy’s your guy.”
