Actor Makes A Scene Instead Of Cleaning One

9/25/2023 Los Angeles – Local actor Dale Sanders found himself in hot water with his wife today due to a simple misunderstanding exacerbated by the ongoing actor’s strike.

It all started when Sanders’ wife Jane left him a handwritten note asking him to ‘mop the floors’ while she was out running errands. Sanders, unable to fully decipher his wife’s cursive handwriting, read the note as saying ‘mope around while I’m gone.’

“With this strike going on, I’ve been posting a lot of ridiculous videos of me moping around the house out of sheer boredom,” said Sanders. “So, when I saw Jane’s note, I figured it was another request for some lighthearted internet content.”

Sanders promptly grabbed his phone and began recording an exaggerated video of himself melodramatically moping around the house, wiping away fake tears and delivering an impassioned monologue about his intense despair. He then posted the video on social media tagging his wife with the caption “The lengths I go to keep my wife entertained! Have to admit this was kind of fun.”

When Jane returned home to still-dirty floors, she was unamused.

“I swear, if this strike goes on any longer, my husband’s antics are going to drive me up the wall,” she said. “I just want him to do simple chores without turning everything into a dramatic scene.”

Sanders sheepishly acknowledged his mistake once it was pointed out. “I guess this is why they say to never read your spouse’s handwriting,” he said.

The actor’s strike is just over 2 months long leaving many performers like Sanders with little to do besides create social media content. Perhaps cursive penmanship courses should be the next thing on Dale’s agenda. He needs to hurry, though, as the screenwriter’s union tentatively agreed to terms late yesterday giving hopes that all in the entertainment field will be back to work soon resulting in less time to learn basic cursive writing skills.
