The Price Is Right If You Have Medical And Life Insurance

6/24/2023 Los Angeles – The Price Is Right, the popular game show, has announced a new policy that will affect future participants. Starting next week, all audience members must provide proof of adequate life and medical insurance before entering the studio.

The policy change comes after a recent incident where Henry, a lucky contestant who won the Bonkers game and a trip to Hawaii, dislocated his shoulder in celebration. The celebration was posted on The Price Is Right’s official Instagram account going viral. His wife, Alice, had to spin the wheel for him to determine if Henry moved on to the Final Showcase.

The show’s producers said they were not liable for any injuries or damages caused by the contestants’ own actions, and that they had no choice but to implement the new rule to protect themselves from potential lawsuits.

“We love our fans and we want them to have fun, but we also have to be responsible,” said Drew Carey, the host of the show. “We don’t want anyone to get hurt or end up in debt because of a freak accident on our show. That’s why we’re asking our audience members to show us their medical insurance cards and proof of life insurance before they come in. It’s for their own good.”

However, some people have taken exception regarding the new policy saying the show was trying to discourage people from participating, especially those who could not afford insurance or had pre-existing conditions.

“I think it’s outrageous,” said Mary, a longtime fan of the show who had planned to attend a taping next month. “I’ve been watching The Price Is Right since I was a kid and I always dreamed of being on it. Now they’re telling me I can’t because I don’t have insurance? That’s not fair. Henry ruined the fun for everyone.”

Not everyone was opposed to the new policy, though. “I think it’s reasonable,” said John, another fan of the show who had already bought tickets for a taping next week. “I mean, it’s a game show, not a charity. They have to cover their bases. And it’s not like they’re asking for anything unreasonable. Just a proof of insurance. I have mine right here. I’m ready to go.”

Fans of the popular game show may have noticed the studio where the show has been filmed since 1972 is not exactly in tip-top shape. The walls are peeling, the lights are flickering, the floors are uneven, and some of the props look like they belong in a museum. But, don’t expect any safety updates to the existing studio anytime soon. The show’s producers say there’s no point in updating it as they’ll be moving to the new studio in Glendale at some point in the Fall.

“People will just have to deal with the faulty wiring, protruding light bulbs, uneven floors, and decrepit props until we can get to our new digs,” said executive producer Mike Richards in a press release. “We don’t want to waste money on fixing things that we’re going to leave behind anyway. Besides, it adds to the charm and nostalgia of the show. Who doesn’t love a good Plinko board that randomly drops balls or tips over? It keeps the contestants alert and on edge while at the same time the audience stays interested looking for that next contestant hazard. It’s a win-win for the show.”

The Price Is Right is one of the longest-running and most-watched game shows in history. It features contestants who are selected from the studio audience and compete by guessing the prices of various merchandise to win cash and prizes. Show producers indicate the new policy will stay in force at the new Glendale studio as well when it opens in the Fall.
