A Rocky Mistake: A Woman’s Hilarious Adventure At The Testicle Festival

6/11/2023 Franklin, IN – A woman from Indiana made a fool of herself after she confused a festival celebrating Rocky Mountain Oysters for a seafood event. Karen Johnson said she was dying to try some fresh oysters at the annual Testicle Festival in Franklin, Indiana. She said she had no clue that Rocky Mountain Oysters were actually bull testicles that are deep-fried and served with various sauces.

“I am a huge fan of oysters, so when I saw the sign for the Testicle Festival, I thought it was a funny name for a festival,” she said. “I didn’t know what Rocky Mountain Oysters were. I thought they were just another name for a specific type of oyster.”

Johnson said she dragged her husband along to the festival, which attracts thousands of nut-lovers every year. She said she was baffled by the sight of people wearing T-shirts with slogans like “I love nuts”, “Balls to the wall”, and “Teste Festy”. She also noticed that the festival featured events like the “Ball Eating Contest”, “Wet T-Shirt Contest” and the “Undie 500”.

“I thought it was all a prank,” she said. “I thought they were just messing with the name. I didn’t realize they were actually eating testicles.”

Karen said she finally realized her mistake when she asked her husband what he thought they would see at the festival.

“I was laughing so hard at the name Testicle Festival, I asked him, ‘What do you think you see at a Strawberry Festival?’ He said, ‘Strawberries’. I asked further, ‘What do you think you will see at a Testicle Festival, then?’ He replied with a laugh, ‘What do you think Rocky Mountain Oysters are?’ That’s when it hit me. I was so embarrassed and mortified. I said, ‘Oops…I thought they were oysters’.”

Johnson said she quickly left the festival with her husband, who was laughing his head off at her gaffe. She said she did not try any of the Rocky Mountain Oysters, but she did take a picture of the sign for the festival sponsored by Indiana Urology and posted it on social media.

“I wanted to share my funny story with my friends,” she said. “I thought they would get a kick out of it. I didn’t expect it to go viral.”

Johnson’s post received thousands of likes, comments, and shares on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Many people found her story hilarious and made jokes about her confusion.
