6/9/2023 Abilene, TX – Man baffled by wife’s anger after he treats her to Orange Julius at Dairy Queen

A man from Texas claims he has no idea why his wife stormed out of a Dairy Queen after he ordered her an Orange Julius as a surprise treat. The man, who asked to remain anonymous, said he wanted to cheer up his wife after she had a bad day at work and knew that she liked ice cream.

“I thought it would be a nice gesture to take her to Dairy Queen and get her something sweet. I saw they had this drink called Orange Julius and I thought it would be a harmless prank to order it for her. I knew it was a nickname for Donald Trump and I knew she was a big Trump supporter. But I didn’t think she would take it so seriously. It was just a joke. A bad one, maybe, but still a joke,” the man told our reporter.

The man said he was well aware that Orange Julius was a nickname for former President Donald Trump, who was indicted earlier today on charges related to the classified documents recovered at Mar-a-Lago last August. The man also admitted that he made some snide remarks about Trump’s legal troubles while waiting for their order, thinking his wife would laugh it off.

“I said something like ‘Orange Julius is the worst drink ever. It’s sour, watery and artificial. Just like Trump himself’ and ‘I wonder if Orange Julius will give me indigestion. Or worse, treason’. I was just joking around, you know.

The man said his wife’s mood changed drastically when she saw the drink he had ordered for her. She accused him of mocking her and disrespecting her beliefs. She threw the drink in his face and stormed out of the restaurant, leaving him confused and covered in orange slush.

“I don’t get it. It’s just a drink. It’s not like I ordered her a Biden hat or something. How was I supposed to know she would get so upset over a joke? She does always talk about politics, though,” the man said.

He tried to call his wife and apologize, but she blocked his number. He said he hopes she will calm down and come back to him, but he is not sure if their marriage can survive this incident.

“I love her and I want to make things right, but I don’t know if she can forgive me for this. Maybe I should have ordered her a Blizzard instead,” he said. “But, then I might have joked about the storm Trump is facing, or something like here comes Stormy Daniels again. Guess I can’t win.”

Trump has been indicted on 31 counts for his mishandling of confidential documents. He will appear in federal court Tuesday morning.
