Don’t Do It, You’ll Poke Your Eye Out

A picture of Pedro Pascal in Game of Thrones

5/29/2023 Hollywood – Pedro Pascal is a beloved actor who has starred in many popular shows and movies, such as The Mandalorian, Narcos, and Wonder Woman 1984. But he is perhaps best known for his role as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones, where he met a gruesome fate at the hands of the Mountain. His death scene involved his eyes being gouged out and his skull being crushed, which left a lasting impression on many fans.

Pascal has recently revealed that he suffers from chronic eye infections that make his eyes red and swollen. He suspects that the cause of his condition is the frequent re-enactments of his death scene that fans ask him to do at conventions and events. “They always want me to scream ‘You raped her! You murdered her! You killed her children!’ and then they pretend to poke my eyes out with their fingers,” he said. “It’s very flattering, but also very unsanitary.”

Pascal said that he tries to be polite and decline the requests, but some fans are very persistent and even aggressive. “One time, a guy grabbed me by the hair and pulled me down to the floor. He said he wanted to feel the crunch of my skull,” he recalled. “I had to kick him in the groin to get away.” Another time a fan was so enthusiastic that he accidentally poked Pascal’s eye with his finger, causing him to scream in pain and bleed profusely.

Pascal said that he has consulted several doctors and tried various treatments for the eye infections, but nothing seems to work. He said that he is tired of waking up with crusty eyelids and blurry vision. He also said that he is worried about his career and how his eye infections might affect his future roles. “I don’t want to be typecast as the guy who always dies with his eyes popped out,” he said. “I want to do other things, like comedy or romance.”

Pascal’s co-stars and friends are not very sympathetic to his plight. They often tease him about his eye infections and his fan encounters, making sarcastic comments like:

Due to the infections, Pascal has decided to put an end to the re-enactments and issued a statement to his fans. “I appreciate your love and support, but please stop asking me to re-enact my death scene from Game of Thrones. It’s not fun for me, and it’s bad for my health. I’m sorry to disappoint you all, but I’m not Oberyn Martell. I’m Pedro Pascal. I’m alive and well. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but please don’t touch my face. Or my head. Or any part of me. Please stop trying to kill me. I hope you understand and respect my decision. Thank you for your cooperation,” he wrote.

Pascal also added one last remark at the end of his statement. “And please don’t send me any more eye drops or eye patches as gifts either. I have enough of those already.”
